And what it means as far as the rest of the season goes? Was this move made to try and get Melo, or just trying to move people around

If you have ESPN insider, read john hollinger's article. He drops some knowledge on the situation.

It will be interesting to see what happens on this road trip with the new guys, especially Jack. JJ is the one guy we picked up that needs to have an impact right away and with really no time spent practicing or knowing the playbook. I knew Peja was on his way out but did not see the Raptors being the ones picking him up. The hornets raped them in the julian/Marco trade, can't believe they wanted to talk to us again.

Yeah I'm thinking Thornton gets some playing time at least tomorrow.

No doubt MT5 will see the court tomorrow. The new guys won't even be with the team until they pass their physicals...which is a slow process.

Because he averaged 20 ppg for part of his rookie year. He'd win the scoring title for sure if Monty didn't hate him.

as a starter in his rookie year while shooting a higher percentage than Kobe, Durant, Wade, or Carmelo did as rookies.

But if he went to any other school, we'd think he was a scrub.

He averaged 14.5 for the season in a no-defense system.

If Monty thinks he doesn't need to see the floor, he knows pretty well I'd think. You don't start 10-1 by accident.

To sum up the article, Hollinger basically says since Williams and Demps took over, the Hornets have gone from a lottery-bound team riddled with bad contracts to a title contender with roster and cap flexibility.
