I personally have no problem with this. It is a tribute to the history of state-to-state relations between the Great State of Louisiana and our neighbors to the East. Freshen up on your Louisiana history (specifically how the Magnolia became our state flower) and you might understand its significance

Funny that you make fun of ole miss fans possibly calling it that....even though we dont. Fun fact...lsu student body decided on naming the game. Ole miss students nominated a bunch of names...lsu students decided on magnolia bowl and the design of the trophy

That doesn't really make sense in the way the Red River Shootout is named.
