I've only had the tamales. Pretty good. I'm going back for prime rib soon.

I have been to that location four times. Never to BR. It is solid, not great, but I will go back.

I went a few weeks ago. It was average at best. Steak was good, salad was lettuce and 1 cherry tomato, and tamales were average. I just had trouble paying $120 after tip to split a steak and a salad and have 1/2 dozen tamales and be served by a guy in a T-shirt and shorts. I've had much better meals for that price and cheaper.

I'VE been to both and BR is very good i thought. I'm surprised someone thinks its high. I would like to know of a place with better steaks cheaper.

How much was the wine? Assuming you got the porterhouse ($22/pound last I checked), that would be $44 for two people. The salad is included and I think the half dozen tamales are about $8. That would be $52 plus tax so $57-$58 plus tip.

I find the steaks pretty good, but I don't know what all the fuss is about the tamales. Them sorta reminded me of the Hormel canned tamales.

I've been to both...the food in BR is about the same. The BR location has a good atmosphere for a casual dinner, but as you would expect it doesn't have the same feel as the Greenville location. Still a good choice for a good, casual steak though.

The one in Oxford wasn't nearly as good as the original in Greenville...

Since I am the only on that likes the tamales, can any of you people tell me where around Baton Rouge has tamales up to your standards? I love tamales but cannot find them around here.

I'm not sure about where to get them around BR.

My dad is from NO and makes some damn good NO style tamales. I will dig and post the recipe if I can find it. He has been fine-tuning it for years.
