I know the Rose Bowl must take the highest ranked Non-BCS team if they lose one of their locked in teams to the BCS title game. But if TCU is the highest ranked non-BCS team and THEY end up in the title game too...ex. Oregon vs TCU...is the Rose still obligated to take the next highest Non-BCS team, which would be Boise?

I don't see why not.

I think only 1 non-AQ is guarentted a spot. Used to be if you are in the top 4 you were guarenteed a spot, not sure if that is still the case. Last year the Fiesta took TCU and Boise, but only 1 of them was guarentted a BCS spot I think the other was just an eligible at large.

I think what was said is if either one of the Big10/Pac10 teams make it to the BCSNCG, THEN the Rose Bowl has to take a non AQ.

If Oregon loses, and Wisconsin wins out, its those two teams in the Rose Bowl.

If Oregon goes on to go undefeated, then I'm pretty sure the Rose Bowl would have to select a non AQ

This is correct...I just saw a link to it in another thread. Boise could still go, but they'd be at the mercy of the bowls.

Brings up a good possible scenario for LSU given they don't get into the title game. AU loses one of its remaining two, but wins the SEC title game, therefore they'd be in the Sugar. TCU plays Oregon for the title, leaving openings in the Rose, Fiesta and Orange. Nothing against the Sugar...I'd just like to see LSU play in a different BCS game.

That's correct, but the question is what if there is a non-AQ in the BCS CG as well? If TCU makes the BCS CG is Boise automatically in the BCS or are they just eligible? You don't have to take a team just because they are eligible. A non AQ making the title game might give the Rose an out to take Stanford.

Yeah, I'd love to play in a different BCS Bowl, I think the last time we did was the 83 Orange vs Nebraska. Assuming the Rose doesn't have to take a non AQ if TCU is in the CCG, Stanford would be a mortal lock to play the Big 10 champ unless they collapse. I'd worry if Bama beats Auburn that someone might take them.

true...I forgot that back in 06 when it appeared we might go to the Rose, it was really only because Cal faded down the stretch. They've made no secret of the fact that they want Big10-Pac10 if at all possible.

But I could handle Phoenix or Miami.

Fiesta would most likly be vs Nebraska or Ok St. Interesting story lines for either of those.

Orange would be vs ACC Champ.

Sugar could be vs Big 10 runner up or Boise perhaps.
