The title made me think this thread was going in a completely different direction.

I've brought a few people hunting with me that were not big hunter and had to sit with me. I told them going in that I'm the one putting all the time, effort, and money into this so, if you want to fill your freezer with a tasty doe that's fine but if Moses walks out I'm shooting him.

ETA: if they are an experienced hunter they will probably want to sit alone anyway. I would.

Yep, depends on the situation. If it's my place, but I'm taking someone to shoot a doe, and feel like I need to sit with them, that's fine, but if a shooter walks out, it's mine. I don't see any point in two people that hunt the same place sitting in the same tent, but I guess it would have to be determined before the hunt. If it's my tent, on my foodplot or area, I get the last word...

My buddy and I are both going for the first time on his father-in-laws land. I figured it was a given he gets the first shot, but I just wanted to make sure

Yep, I would imagine that would be how it goes, unless he says otherwise. Hope it's a DoubleBull or it could be kind of tight quarters

It can be very enjoyable to make an evening hunt with a cooler of pearly pops and a good buddy and relax and see what deer move that evening. I've had many a good time and good hunts doing this.

I pee way too much when I bowhunt to be drinking. Now in my boxstand, we put a funnel in the corner, connected to a hose that runs into the ground...

Pick a side. If you're on the right, you get first shot at anything that comes from the right. Person on left gets shot at anything that comes from the left. Pick a center point out when you get in the stand.

Most of the time this is what I have done when hunting with two experienced hunters. Some of my favorite hunts have been with friends. My dad and I made a hunt together when I was about 18 and we did the 1-2-3 shoot technique on two does Very memorable hunt.

I've taking many people hunting, be it duck hunting or deer hunting. And I take much more pride in seeing them enjoy theirselves. If it's a doe or it's a big buck, I'd like for them to shoot it and have the opportunity of their life.

Yeah, I'm kind of glad that I'm not friends with any of yall.

When I bring people hunting on our property then I make sure I sit with them at least once. I've never told anyone "If it's a doe then you can have it. However, if it's a buck then it's mine." I know my brother-in-law tried to do it to me once at his house. I looked at him and laughed. If you're inviting them hunting with you then it's for a reason. No need to be selfish about who shoots what. It's your property/lease and you'll have plenty more chances.

have fun with it, do a shoot off day before. Closest to target at 200 yds gets it.

Back before the digital tv conversion, Dad and I would sit in the stand and watch the LSU game (if a 2:30 CBS game). We did that for the Arkansas triple OT game in '07. Ended up staying well after shooting hours, and their coulda been a herd of deer in the lane before dark at the end of regulation--we didn't care.
