How can Texas lose at home to Iowa St when Rivals has them top 5 every year in recruiting. Are LSU's rankings bogus too? I hear Texas doesn't have any playmakers..how can that be true with their rankings?

They are losing because of the same reason that Florida is losing! Lack of LEADERSHIP!

The best teams are not formed by having a roster full of superstars. The best teams are formed by utilizing the guys you have and unleashing their potential...thus far, neither Texas or LSU has done it this year.

I honestly think that Texas would have beaten bama in the NC game if their QB hadn't gotten hurt. Now, the very next season, they get their arse blown the fuk out of their own stadium by UCLA... and the implosion keeps going and going.

There's a lesson to be learned there.

Can't be successful without a leader on offense...and usually that leader has to be a QB.

QB is 1/2 the puzzle. Kellen Moore for Boise looks great. Makes the reads/ knows who will be primary before the snap...what a difference

Texas' problem is OL, which is about as bad as LSU's OL last season.

Texas recruits heavily from within the state and usually gets the best players....this year they are trying to run a more traditional run based offense...one problem though....no Texas high school runs a traditional run based offense....they all run the spread from the shotgun....I truly believe that coming from the offenses they do the OL have no idea how to run block and it is evident on Saturdays....I love it when Texas loses

Texas and Florida both seem to have quarterbacks that dont belong there..Those kids made bad choices (even though Gilbert ran same offense in high school). They should have chosen schools that fit their style that can "run the ball".

They don't have a legit RB.

Rivals rates kids on who is recruiting them. If UT, LSU, Bama and Auburn are recruiting a kid then he is a 5 star. If he is not heavily recruited then he will be lower. If I remember correctly Jacob Hester was a 2 star. This recruiting is bullshite. Also the only place in the country that cares about recruiting is the South so the services that have a financial interest in recruiting make sure the kids being recruited by SEC schools are high. This is JMHO!

my cousin did a project his senior year that graded recruiting services based on production as well as who made it to the NFL and where they were drafted.

It is not bullshite, its a good service.

how many players go through the recruiting service each year

if LSU, who was an elite program, recruited Hester, shouldn't he have been higher than a 2 star?

more kids in the SEC also make it to the NFl. I guess that is financial bias as well

Hester had offers from LSU, Miami, OU, Oregon, Texas, and Texas Tech. How many fullbacks are rated highly?

and facts show that it is incorrect. Check the recruiting board. There has been a lot of evidence shown how the top draft picks are more likely than not highly rated players out of highschool

Sure there are always sleepers and also busts, but rating services for the most part are dead on.

In short, Texas has no excuse in the world to justify losing to Iowa St. at home. I don't care how many apologists are on this thread, it's Iowa St. They're Texas. Shouldn't happen.

I mean, Miss St is decent this year and can you imagine if similar responses would have been stated had we lost to them at home this year?
