I need some info please

I recently bought a 22cal handgun from a friend of mine.I have tried, without any success, to learn a few things about the pistol.Such as, the year it was made, if the manufacturer is still in business, etc.Can anyone here give some info on the pistol?As I said, it is a 22cal, single shot.The stencil on the barrel says, High Standard Mfg Comp, Hamden, Conn.It also has, THE MARSAHL, stenciled on the barrel.Thanks to anyone who may help.
