White sweet potatoes

I saw these for sale at Southside Produce (in BR) today. I've never heard or seen them before.

Anyone ever try them? Are they about the same as the orange ones?

Very good. Not stringy. Cook them the same as the others. I like them better.

That sounds to me like "caribbean" yams, which are different in texture and appearance obviously from the SoLa version. They are starchier than what we have, more like a true potato if boiled and mashed. Look up creole yam recipes on the interweb, and you might find out how to approach your needs.
