Offensive:
Lael Collins
Hill
Hilliard
Landry
Trai Turner
White
Lewis
Magee
Rivers

Defensive:
Johnson
Q. Thomas
Jenkins
Collins
Paul Turner
Randle
Martin

Special Teams:
Botts

Defensive Possibilities: Mickey Johnson, Ray Drew, Rasco, Jernigan, Maggitt, Fleming, Raven

Offensive Possibilites: Mettenberger, Greg Robinson, Beckham, Brissett, Flowers, Sylve, O'Leary

Not saying we get all of these prospects but lets say Drew, Jernigan and Mickey all want to be part of the "fam". Do we pull any offers from kids that are committed now? Would you turn down mickey or jernigan and keep Q. Thomas? Does someone get asked to grey shirt?

Does botts keep his scholly?

What area(s) do we need to address the most?

What happens and how do most of yall think this will play out?

Thanks

Too early to tell.
Odds are one or two already committed will end up elsewhere.
I'm sure LSU will stop contacting one or two they are backing off on.

QB is a must because in 2012 if all you have is Rivers, LSU will be in trouble. And he needs to come now to learn the offense and get acclimated to college ball.

They need another DT as well.

With commitments so far they have met a lot of needs.

we get the following: robinson or rasco, obj, m. johnson, mett, brissett, meggitt, o'leary or jarnigin. raven on stand by.

wilson is a protege of orgeron thus he will do whatever it takes to make room for every "TOP TALENT" that want on board the LSU train.

Wait until after the Alabama weekend. Pretty much every un-committed prospect with any interest in us will be there

I think the way we finish out the class will depend heavily on our finish of this season. I feel as if this season ends well (0-1 losses) we'll reel in some of the very big fish (Rasco, Drew, Jernigan, Robinson) but if not we will still finish strong.

My personal prediction:

Rasco (DE)
Jernigan (DT)
Robinson (OT)
Beckham (WR/DB)
Mettenberger (QB)

and we stop at 22-23 commitments

I don't think LSU has room for that many
I think LSU only signs about 22/23 this year
They don't want another greyshirt fiasco

I can see some of the following leaving team:
Kellen Theriot
Chris Tolliver - could concussion be a career ender
Greg Shaw - sr still hasn't seen enough time
Alex Russian
Chris Davenport
Ryan St. Julien
NO basis for this but there will have to be some attrition

Is Q Thomas supposed to play DE or DT?
If Rasco, Jernigan, and Mickey Johnson want to be Tigers is Thomas good enough to keep his scholly?

I wouldn't be surprised if Botts wound up elsewhere.

This. If I am not mistaken he committed before Wing was cleared by the NCAA.

Thomas is a very unique situation. LSU has held onto his commitment despite being suspended for most of his senior year. I know it would be a little low key, but once recruits start saying they will commit, I will be interested to see how long they hold onto him. It's very commendable that they have kept his commitment, but it's a risky move for Miles to make

With Wing actually here and getting red-shirted, I see no reason for Botts making it to campus. He was an emergency pick-up when clearinghouse issues came up with Wing, but I think he goes elsewhere

Quentin Thomas still hasn't played this season. His situation wasn't supposedly cleared up, but the school board reversed the temporary injunction. His scholly offer is still there, but I'm not sure if this will have any effect if it comes to a numbers crunch.

I think Botts stays, until Wing plays under the lights you don't know how he will perform. You better have insurance in case Wing needs more time. Botts is that.

same thing happened with one of the previous Miles recruits.
I think it was one of the Taylors.
guy got in a car accident, broken neck, could not play for 1.5 years. He ended up on the team.

I suspect Miles to be a really good guy.

I think parents appreciate him as a person.

That was Delvin Breaux...

That is a different story.. Breaux got seriously injured.. Thomas was suspended for an alleged assault towards a female.

Regarding Thomas, it was more harrassment than assault. It was totally non-violent. Assault paints a much different picture than harrassment.

oh okay.

Obviously the coaches believe he is SEC material but does he still have an offer if Jernigan, Mickey and Rasco want in?

Pulling scholarship offers after kids commit is not a practice that coaches want to get into. To me, off the field trouble would be the only reason to pull an offer. LSU coaches have said Thomas' offer is still there through all this, so I don't think they change their minds now. He may be asked to greyshirt. However, with the Porter situation from this past year, I'd expect that to happen earlier in the process.
