Does a 1 loss SEC team still make it to the BCSCG?

The popular theory up until now has been that a 1 loss SEC team would still get into the BCSCG. With everyone in the east having at least 2 losses now, the 1 loss team would have to come from the west. I don't think beating a 2 loss team from the east will give us the "bump" that it usually does.

My opinon is that it will take a team from the west to be undefeated, ie Auburn or LSU, to make it to the BCSCG.

I know who I'm pulling for....

Bama lost early enough and is ranked high enough that they have a shot...I dont think anyone else does (unless everyone else in the country but 1 team loses a game)

In the current situation, a one-loss team needs help. I'm pretty confident that all works itself out though by the end of the regular season. The real question brewing is a 1-loss SEC team over Boise, TCU, or Utah. I call bullshite on those teams, but there seems to be media support for giving Boise a shot. I understand it though.

I say yes. Boise and TCU both play cream puff schedules which works against them in the end.

Run these two teams through a brutal week after week SEC schedule and then let's talk

It would have to be Alabama, for them to only have one loss, they would need to beat LSU and Auburn, that would probably put them high enough to go to the BCSCG. I don't think Auburn or LSU with one loss gets enough of a bump from beating a 2 loss east team in the SECCG.

They won't need it. Auburn...who is 4, still plays #6 and #8...plus the Eastern opponent. LSU still plays 4 and 8. Alabama still plays 4 and 6.

Check with LSUMatt but my guess is that a 1 loss SEC team would jump both Boise and TCU.

The only fair way is to reserve a spot for the SEC champion. Who ever wins it goes on to beat the breaks of of any one! I wish I could see an SEC giant get on the same field with TCU or Boise! It would be murder, unfortunetly teams like Oregon are playing "tough" opponents and are up there. If a SEC makes it in, the streak will stay alive and someone out of those sorry as conferences will get there asses handed to them!

If OU and Oregon go undefeated, no one-loss SEC champion will beat them to the BCS. Boise State and TCU will fall away due to strength of schedule.

Yes!! The public would much rather see an Oregon vs LSU than Oregon vs Boise St/TCU/Utah. No other team with a conference loss will make it to BSCCG. Everyone knows how tough the SEC is with the last 4 NC coming from it. They would put a 2 loss SEC team in over those other 3 cream pies.
