Hard to believe the same fan base bitching about being 6-0, is the same fan base that tore down goal post after beating a 3-8 team.

1. Tennessee was ranked #11 in the country at the time.

2. We had just lost to UAB.

3. We had just had the worst decade in LSU history, seven losing seasons and something like 54-58-1.

I believe a lot of the former became fans after 2003.

I was talking about the bama game, they were 3-6 at the time we played them.

Well, that was a little silly, I admit, but Jesus, the frustration of losing to Bama at home for a thirty one year stretch makes it understandable IMO

I know I just miss that fan base. It seems like we had so much more fun back then. Like when UGA scored a TD in 03 to tie the game the whole crowd chanted LSU. UGA went from having momentum to LSU. If that happened now 40,000 of the fans would have already left to beat the traffic and the other 50,000 would boo.

I always make a point of trying to start a "LSU!LSU!LSU!" chant after the other team creates a turnover or scores points. I'd love to see the old Death Valley return.

I think the Baton Rouge Bar association should step up during Bama week and offer free legal services to any fan arrested trying to storm the field after we beat Saben.

Yeah that 31-year losing streak was hell on all those 20-year-olds.

That's a stupid statement considering we how much we hate Bama and not having beat them in 30 years at Tiger Stadium.
Bama had ripped our hearts out so many times and constantly threw the losing streak in our face. "we can't lose in Baton Rouge" is what they chanted. Get some fricking perspective before you make such dumb arse comments.

I was 22 in the student section. i didn't rush the field, but understood the magnitude of getting the monkey off our backs.
