Question about Garmin GPS software...

I just bought a Garmin Summit HC and the CD says it isnt mac compatible. Is there reason for concern or do I even need the software?
I just leased a HUGE piece of land and am having trouble learning all the spots. I have never had one of these before. If there are some options that ARE mac compatible or any of you know where i can download the software, please share!

You only need software to download waypoints or stuff like that. You don't need it.
