Realisticly there are about 100 LSU alumni who would participate in a buyout this size, and they are not writing that check in this economy. The buyout may still be to big after next season. Les is bullet proof unless the NCAA really come s calling. And DJ McCarthy is not enough.

Where's the money coming from? Your talking 130 people at 100 k each. Where do you find em? Hell, half the people on this board would throw a fit if they got a guaranteed tailgate spot for their trouble!

Who said they are only donating 100K each? A few guys with plenty of disposable income can take care of this, easy

The price of the buy out is nothing....It's how do you justify spending that much on a football buyout with all of the cuts to the rest of the university. It's political.

Assuming that you know what you are talking about is not the same as knowing what you are talking about.

See Chicken's sticky. Miles isn't going anywhere, so give it a rest. This has been covered literally 1,000 times.

I wouldn't be a problem if our so called "academics" understood where the money came from. When they start producing a product, they can have money as well to solve problems.

It's not paid as a lump sum.

It's doable.

It will end up costing the univ much more money than his buyout if they keep him.

pretty easy you say that les miles is costing us money in the long run and that the more money LSU athletics makes the more money it can give to the school.

the fact LSU athletics gives money to the school justifies this all

How the HELL did Bertman interview Les, get back into the Private Jet and tell the guys he was with:

"Hey y'all, this is our guy. We can't let him get away. Stop setting up interviews and get the contract ready!."

lump sum or not doesn't matter the taf and its boosters have the money to pay him and a new coach.

the thoughts of the taf being poor is laughable.

Take a look at the largest donations in TAF history, there just aren't that many people ponying up huge dollars. 100k is considered a huge donation to TAF. Coming up with Gerry D's buyout in a better economy was tough.

And then, if it's done, we will have unlimited complaining because the people who ponyied up get better tickets than the "loyal" fans.

I hate Les more than the next guy, but I try not to be so bold with other people's money.

He wanted a puppet. Hopefully Alleva has a different opinion.

bring in a great coach and the buyout will pay for itself. an apathetic fanbase that stays homes for games and doesn't buy merchandise does more damage to a school than a buyout ever could.

exactly, these worthless hippie professors we have for life-draining degrees like Women and Gender Studies, have no idea what they are talking about when they criticize the athletic department. The athletic department is probably the only reason they are around in the first place.
