I'm looking at making a trip out west next season and just wanted some opinions helpful advice. Also looking at doing a double dip with an A's game to go along with the Giants game. Just looking for tips from anyone who has been on how the stadiums are, parking, good idea/bad idea on doing two games in one day. TIA

Are the A's and Giants ever in town at the same time? If so, it has to be rare right?

Thats what i was thinking. But I looked at a website that had the supposed schedules for next year and the times I'm going going in May the A's are at home to the mariners and Giants at home against the Braves.

I went to a Giants game last summer. We walked from our hotel, it was kind of far but it was a nice day so it was cool. The stadium is awesome, I think it might be one of the best in the league. We had great seats behind 1st base in the second tier up. Picked them up on the way in. The people selling the tickets on the street will have seating charts and shite. I'd suggest walking around the stadium too. We chilled in standing room only section for an inning or so that is over by the marina. Really cool view and all of the bay.

i wouldnt try to do two games in one day. parking and traffic can be pretty rough. especially getting between San Fran and Alameda.

Went last summer to AT&T, definitely the nicest park I have been to. Our hotel was in Union Square, we caught the bus and it dropped us off right outside of the left field gate. Did the same leaving the park. Don't let LA's (lack of) public transportation cloud your judgement. We had an easy, safe trip both ways.

Go early as you can and catch BP, we made a lap around the stadium and hung out in McCovey cove during BP. You will definitely want to take some pics with the bay bridge and marinas in the background. And bring a jacket!

i used to live in northern cali and love at&t. definitely walk around and see as much as possible. there are so many great views of the city and golden gate bridge. make sure to get some garlic fries, they rock. as far as oakland goes, skip it. that place isnt all that great.

I stayed in a hotel that was pretty close to the wharf. We either rode the subway or the bus straight to the game. Short ride. Got off at the stadium. I would reccommend that if possible. It was super easy. While you're there, I would recommend renting bikes and riding across the Golden Gate to Socilito(sp) for lunch and stuff and ride the ferry back to town. It goes by alcatraz. We did this in the morning and then went to the game that night. Like they said above, definitely get there for BP and just walk around the stadium. Even go in the upper deck just to see the view. And don't forget the jacket and garlic fries.

I go out to SF for a series every couple of years or so. If you are sitting in the upper deck make sure you do it from the right field side. You will have a wonderful view of the Bay and the lights of Oakland. Try the garlic fries, they rule.

If anyone gives you grief about your accent politely remind them 2 of their 3 statues outside the Park of boys from Mobile, AL.
