Is it just me or do you think that was an awful play call for that situation. We're moving the ball and we call a wheel route to our 5'10" running back (who is awesome so no knock on Ridley). I know Lee should have thrown that ball to the back shoulder or away but man what a stupid play call. I've really just had enough at this point. College football is a business at the end of the day and no way should someone be earning the kind of money Miles or Crowton is earning with these results. I've said it many times. Les Miles will be the downfall of this program.

i think it was a nice call and that the pass should have been thrown out of the endzone

Lee had a nice game, but he made 2 horrible throws into the endzone.....got away with one and didnt with the other

Your dumb call,,,,,ie see last 32 seconds of the game sums up the coaching on the offensive side of the ball....Mass Confusion.

I thought the play call was a good one. But the execution was not good. Once Lee saw Ridley we covered he should have tried to run it in or throw it away.

Tough to call that type of play on a short field.
There was not a lot of room for JL to lead the receiver, because it would be out of the endzone. Ball should have been thrown more toward the corner.

Either way, the ball was in the air a long time given the DB quite an advantage. He threw the ball from almost the hash on the right to the left corner.

Asking for a pick there. Bad play call.

Bad throw- should have gone deeper or to the outside shoulder as you said...can not fault the play calling.

one exception...it seems as JL throws much better to his right, so I may have tried that.

I am not faltering JL, nor the coaches here..
it's part of the game and he does not get much game time.

I thought it was more a good play by the DB than an awful throw. It wasn't a GREAT throw and was a little short. Should have been thrown over the outside shoulder, but regardless the DB made a good play. I mean, the kid's barely played in 2 years. I won't crucify for a fade in the endzone that came up short since we've run that play all of once in 4 years.

No I hear you man the last 32 seconds was nothing more than embarrassing. I just thought it was a stupid call. Lee needs to play the entire game. He just needs snaps. His release of the football is soooo much quicker/better than JJ it's no comparison.

I loved the play call, honestly. There was a good chance that Ridley was going to be wide open. Outstanding play by the linebacker, actually. Lee should have just thrown it away.

I agree not much room for the throw and I wasn't on that side of the field but the wind was whipping on my side so I wouldn't be surprised if it knocked the ball down a bit. I just think calling that play with very little room for error and to a running back who can't go up and get it was just stupid.

it was a mismatch the wrong way. we have 2 very tall wr's who should be used in the end zone. i guess we are so frustrated at not throwing any td passes that we are trying anything.

I think ridley should have slowed his route to time the pass better. Leaving the defender farther away from the ball. On a fade route the reciever must help the QB out a lot. Also don't look at the ball until the last secound so the defender doesn't know its in the air.

I think we should have run a fade route to one of our big receivers (Toliver 6'5" and Randle 6'3")

I agree the Tenn db or LB made one hell of a play to say lee could have thrown a deeper ball then the answer is yes but to discount the play of the tenn player is not fair to lee as well

That was a stupid play call. I would not blame JL for that pick.

It was 1st and 9 from the 9.. It should have been a running play not razzle dazzle of fakes. Without the 3 fakes Lee gets the ball to SR while he is open. It was a touch throw. How does a QB playing in his first game this season have the touch down?

Yes or Ridley simply grabbed the DBs arms. Not a flame on Ridley just that he could have done a lot to stop the play.

I love that playcall to the corner. We tried it twice. Once to Sheppard and once to Ridley. You cant complete those passes on playstation. Anyone with a brain can see the height advantage we have with Tolliver and Randle yet we throw to the shortest guys on the field in tight coverage? Our coaches couldn't coach their way out of a wet paper bag. I started telling my wife the plays as I saw our formations. In the 4th qtr my wife, who really could care less about football, called 2 plays based on how we lined up. Both went for 0 yards. Coaching is terrible and it needs to be changed.
