I agree but the reason why I asked was because Les said in an interview that he would not pass because the defense drops to many back to cover the pass.

Depends on the situation. In some situations that would probably be correct.

I would have thought that 3rd and long would be a good time to throw but I prefer to do it more on first down, but that's just me.

im thinking 1st and 2nd are the downs we work with to throw the ball as well. playaction in between and sneak a throw in there but of course they will sneak the option in there instead

If you're in a situation where you "have" to have the first down obviously you throw it. But it may not be a great idea if you have terrible field position or if you're already in field goal range for example.

Mot, I believe Les in a round about way was referring to the 3rd down and 12 that we had in the 4th qt. and we ran it up the middle. It drew a large boo from the crowd.

But miles also believes that you should run the ball on 1st and 2nd down to set up 3rd and shorts. And on 3rd and < 2 he believes you should power you way to a 1st down on the ground, so that means that les only believes in throwing on 3rd and 3-5. Lol

I doubt he was referring to that because the only time we ran the ball on 3rd down in the 4th quarter was on a 3rd and 1.

I believe it was 3rd and 12, we just had a penalty for false start and we we're on about our 40(somewhere in there).
