If this is thread is really true: DON'T GO! You are setting yourself up for humiliation. This guy will automatically know you're pathological. Personally, IMO:

Good luck with that......your best bet is to fake some plans that come up and get out of it. Like others said, there is no way you can fake your way out of this. If it was me and I knew, which I would, I would frick with you the whole time until you did come clean.

eta.......why would anyone lie about something like this?

What kind of lies have you told him?

We've talked about hunting a few times. Being from Denham I know a lot of hunters and how they talk so i am able to carry hunting conversations. I just told him a few days ago that i love to hunt but didnt have anywhere to hunt. I've never claimed anything outrageous.

I think I've got this.

Couple of things you could do.

1) Come down with the "flu" or have something up up. This way you get out of going.

2) When you get to the stand, pee on every tree around the stand. This way, you will never see a deer. This might ruin it for your buddy for a while though.

3) Get in the stand and fall asleep. You will never see the deer.

4) Since you are adept at lying, if you see a deer, just lie and say you didn't so you don't have to clean it. Enjoy the sun rise, or, sunset and the nature around you.

I want to go. I want to kill one. I think i'd enjoy hunting. I just hope i can get away with not cleaning it there.

Is it disrespectful to hunt on someone's land and take the deer and clean it when you get home? If he offers to help is it disrespectful to say "dont worry about it, i'll take care of it when i get home"?

I'm by no means an expert deer hunter - I've only been a few times with some cousins. I don't think it would be disrespectful as much as it would just be weird to everyone else. As another poster previously mentioned, when someone kills a deer - it is pretty much understood that everyone gathers around and helps out (if you are hunting on a camp with other hunters). They would probably just give you the WTF look if you just decided to take off with the deer.

Is your gun even sighted in?
Have you ever even shot a gun at live game before?
I mean shooting the deer is the first step. Just watch a ton of youtube videos and you could learn to clean it in a month.
But the thought of you looking like a clown trying to clean a deer in front of some other people is pretty hilarious.

It's not a camp. It's at his house. He has a lot of land and a lot of deer he says. He invited me to come over one evening for a hunt. 30 min from my house. that's why i don't think it would be weird to take off and clean it at home. The only other person around would be him.

Im not familiar with Denham. But just look in the phonebook for a gun range, or if you have a buddy with some land outside of city limits.

First off, can't you people see this whole thread is B.S. No one is this stupid or patholical of a liar. The OP is just stringing you along.

This is not necessarily true. I've shot many of a deer after I couldn't hold it any longer and had to pee. I'm not saying it's the best tactic, but it is not guarantee of keeping deer away.

This will never fly.

1. He will help you get the deer out of the woods
2. It is expected that you will clean it at his house/camp. You are his guest, and he will help you clean it.

I hope this is a joke, but if it isn't, please do not pull the trigger of your gun.
