Can I have some lottery numbers for the next few weeks. Please and thanks.
On a serious note, glad you caught that cancer early enough to have something done with it. Cancer fricking sucks and I hope to never have to experience someone close to me going through it again.

I remember the infamous 3rd/4th week stall on low carb. Trying to stay patient.. it helps that this morning I moved into a smaller belt loops

Gonna try to start posting here again (posted under a different name). Weighed in last week at 215 but started this all about a year ago at 235. I know its majority water weight being lost but it's still exciting!

After a few week plateau, the scale is moving like crazy now(hope it's not broken).
CSB time for the low carbers (I know it's long):
I have a genetic condition (other than being fat) that causes my triglycerides to be high. Triglycerides are considered high at 150. Untreated, mine were 950, which was still lower than both of my brothers.
Using medication, my doctor was able to get them down around 480 and said that was about as good as we could do. She said that through diet/exercise I could get them down a little more, but not much.
A few years ago, I started Atkins (my doctor just rolled her eyes when I told her). I lost 70 pounds and got my triglycerides down to the high 200's. Needless to say, my doctor was floored.
Over the last few years, I gained back 60 of the 70 pounds I lost and my numbers were back in the high 400's. My doctor was a little more excited this time when I told her I was going back on Atkins. I then shocked her again, by saying I needed to add more fat to my low-carb diet.
I added bullet-proof coffee to my diet. Look it up if you haven't heard of it. Basically, you add 2 tablespoons each of butter and coconut oil to your coffee in the morning and blend it (sounds disgusting, but is delicious). My doctor actually accused me of trying to kill myself .
You can imagine her response when I returned last week down 25 pounds and with triglycerides of 136 (normal range).
Now my doctor is threatening to write a medical paper about me and says she will start pushing low carb/higher fat diets on all of her patients with cholesterol issues.

Chia seeds are another way to add healthy fats to your diet. Each serving is 180 calories, 11 grams fat, 14 grams of fiber, and 6 grams of protein.

Way to go Bham! I need to try this bullet-proof coffee. I tend to struggle to get enough fat without getting too much protein.

Bham, do you buy that expensive arse coffee and expensive arse grass-fed butter, or are you just adding regular unsalted butter to your normal cup of Community in the AM?
