Garland Gillen, one of two AP voters in the state, has LSU 14th and says Tiger fans shouldn't call for Jarrett Lee because Jefferson is the best they've got.

Being an AP voter does not qualify his statement at all.

JJ might just be the best choice. We don't have a lot of other options.

I love how certian people have it in there minds that JL isnt the answer based on what he did as a freshman.

Every writer who is actually at practice (Im talking to you John DeShazier) says the same thing.

JJ is the hope, JL is the known disaster. GG just said the same exact thing on 690

What if we tested that hypothesis by playing JL during meaningful minutes with 1 or 2 series for a game or two before deciding ?

Yea because he really tore up that Bama and especially that La Tech game last year.

I love how certain people completely forget 2009.

If Jarret Lee cannot throw more than 100yards in a game the this program is in serious trouble. Just because Lee threw those pick 6s in 08 behind one of the most awful lines i've ever seen this program produce, doesn't mean it's going to happen again. Only teams like Nebraska and Oklahoma of the past were capable of attempting less than 10 passes a game and you knew there were going to win. I just can't fathom Lee being that far behind in progress that he still can't break the line up in spite of what we are seeing right now.

O'well. I guess we should except failure. Because Garland Gillen said it, we can't do better than an "F".

Can we recruit some one off the intarmural fields to at least get us to D- for the QB position?

This is what I was saying in my post earlier in the day. There is something we are not seeing as to why JL is not playing weather its that JL really is really not good or this team is a running offense first and JJ is the best QB to run that offense. I don't buy into Miles ego as the reason he won't play JL, its got to be the kid is not the best option.

A NOLA.com writer is at every practice? Once a week? Full practice? Or the 15 minutes of fluff they let them see? To reiterate someone else's point, Rohan Davey never looked very good in practice.

JL's 2009 perfromance beats 3 of the 4 JJ 2010 ones.
