I hope not.

Pargo > Green or at least used to be.

Demps said the acquisition of Green wouldn't shut the door on a possible return of free agent Jannero Pargo to the Hornets.

Isn't Willie Green more of a SG anyway?

CP3, Pargo
Thornton, Green

pargo and green are both of a combo nature. would give us some versatility.

The problem with that is, is that we have Bellinelli as well, and they are all of the combo type. That gives us a bunch of players who are good at different things, but great at nothing, even for back up standards.

That's gotta be an upgraded from last year when we had "a bunch of overpaid assholes who didn't contribute jack shite"

For those asking about Hornets motivation for today's trade, GM Dell Demps believes SG Willie Green can move over and back up Chris Paul.

Could just be Woj reading too much into Demps calling him a combo guard.

The only thing I've seen is speculation, mostly from hornettards. Peja, Thornton, Pondexter, Picks for Melo. This morning all I've read about the Melo situation is all the supposed favorite teams seem to be cheaping out. If they can't get players they think will let them reload Denver may look to rebuild, and that Hornets package probably is as attractive as any rebuilding package they'll see.

I don't think this is going to happen, but if it's offered per say, we need to get at least Afflalo out of it too, I would think. I'd say JR, but trade machine says no.

I don't either. I think Demps is seeing something all the people relying on conventional wisdom aren't. He's in the process of proving that he's either the NBA version of Sean Payton, or that he's not ready to be a GM. I guess Boom or Bust is better than staying mediocre.

I personally think we'd be dumb to do that.

You'd probably be alone on that around here. Since everyone else is saying we'd be dumb to do that.

That would be fricking robbery. During all the original speculation, most agreed it would take two of Ariza/MT5/West. I like Thornton and all, but you'd basically be trading him, an expiring, and a (promising) rookie backup for a top 10 player. That's a no brainer. CP3/Ariza/Melo/West/Okafor is a serious contender. CP3/QPon/Melo/West/Okafor is a wild card based heavily on QPon turning out. Dealing West would frick our front court and make the trade pretty useless.

This is embarrassing... But I honestly was thinking "West, Thornton, and Ariza". Wow, sorry.

Just figured it out... I thought I was quoting the article you posted in the other thread.
