Strict NAT problem on Xbox live

My NAT type says Strict when I play on Xbox live, I recently moved into an apartment where I just get cable internet from plugging the Ethernet cable into the wall so I do not have a router. Does anyone know how I can change my NAT type so I can join parties again on Xbox live? Any help appreciated

you're pretty screwed, seriously though. There's no way the apartment will let you get in and change the router settings.
only thing I can think of is getting a router and plugging it into the wall and trying to change the settings that way.

Maybe I can figure out who their ISP is and get them to open up the specific ports for Xbox live?

Good Luck. This was about a 2 hour ordeal with XBox and Netgear for me to get this fixed.
Edit: Didn't read the whole thread only the title. If it's not your own router you're not going to be able to do anything about it. One of the major downfalls of living in an apt that supplies internet and cable.

I am not stealing Internet from anyone and there is no router involved. My apartment complex offers free Internet and my 360 is plugged in directly into the wall. Xbox live runs very well for me it's just hard to party up with specific people on my friends list
