I know the offense hasn't given us much to cheer for, but the defense has. Even on some big third down situations early in the game, the crowd was quiet and emotionless. I turn around, everyone is in their seats with their arms crossed. WTF??

I wonder if your thoughts are as pointless as your posts?

The truth is that Tiger Stadium isn't what it used to be.

It now takes a big opponent for the fans to be into it as much as you expect.

we have gotten spoiled with the big games we've played in the last 8 yrs or so. playing notre dame, playing ohio state, etc. in the "old" days was huge. there was no seccg and no real nc game. also, there were 6 games in Tiger Stadium per year. games where we played the pushovers were never exciting so it boiled down to about 4-5 games a year that were really important. guess it's hard to "get up" for 8 games a year, esp. when they have been somewhat diluted due to the championship games being added. it's ironic but because of our successes, when we travel to Starkville, it's a big game for their fans whereas not so much for us.

Sounded loud on TV and it appeared the vast majority of the crowd stayed for virtually the whole game!! At least from what you could see on TV!

I was in 303 for this game, and I noticed that most of the people there tend to watch the game in the stadium like they do from their recliner. Just spectating and not trying to be part of the atmosphere. Then after each play they just discuss quietly about what happened/needs to happen, or other things in their personal lives with their friends sitting next to them.

I usually sit in the EUD and have alot more fun up there. In large part because visting fans are usually all around us talking trash, so it keeps everyone in the game. But I believe the bigger diehard fans are the middle class folks that have been priced out of the better seats.

Ive noticed that in most venues...the cheaper the seats, the rowdier the fans. I sit in the EUD too. Ive sat at the very top of the Superdome for Saints games and the fans up there can get downright scary.

I'm in the south end zone now. I was in the WUD the last four seasons and you're right its a lot more fun up there. I was just a little disappointed I guess. Maybe this week will be a little better.
