Official Offensive Playcalling Thread

In an effort to avoid repeat threads of the main issue from last night's game, we will keep this thread alive and stickied. All new threads started about the QB/Play-calling will be anchored or possibly deleted.
The new nickname for the offense is "3rd and Jasper". Offense playcalling was unnecessarily conservative at times...JJ played well enough...lame play calling was the issue tonight.
First and goal at their 10...we run three Ridley three times and settle for another FG. No throws to the endzone. Why? Does this really help Jefferson's development?

+1
I thought on almost all of JJ's throws he had a LOT better accuracy. Even the deep ball was well thrown, shep had a good chance at it.
I think with the confidence he gained from this night if they would actually air it out a bit he might be able to start really leading this team down the field.
It's pathetic watching this conservative playcalling again and again.

JJ was money tonight, he did what he was asked to do. . .
Shepard did more to kill drives than anyone on offense

seriously dude is a 6 yard completion machine really helps us stretch that D out. I would say the problem is that they dont ask him to do some stuff for a reason.

I wish the coaches would get the 2008 season out their heads and just open the damn thing up.

I don't think JJ is the answer but if they are going to play him they have to let him rip and quit coddling him. Its bullshite and not going to help him get better.

and there is going to come a time where we are going to need him to win a game for us. treating him liike he is a freshmen aint gonna help when this time comes. This is by no means an endorsement of J Lee. Coaches need to take the kiddie gloves off.

3rd and Jasper comes after 2nd and Ridley.

Breaking the record for the most field goals in a game is not one you want accomplish. I just hope I never see it again.

Couldn't agree more, and that shite won't cut it going forward.
Looks like LSU was playing not to lose, rather than to win.

What if, in the vast hierarchy of priorities, it is more important to develop your starting QB?
I seem to recall Bertman mixing things up in the middle of the season to have the winning combination when it mattered.
Bertman knew that preparing the team to win a championship is more important than winning each game by the largest margin.
