A few months ago I heard about this website and signed up on it. Due to the oil spill had not heard anything from them but got my first email today. It is really a cool concept for anyone who wants to buy directly from the fishermen. It is just not shrimp - each fishermen lists what they fish and sell.
Here is the email I got the website is in the email:

FRESH SHRIMP NOW AVAILABLE
The fall shrimp season is in full swing right now. Our shrimpers are landing some really nice large (21/25) white shrimp and also a larger medium size.

Check out the “FRESH CATCH UPDATES” on the website www.portofdelcambre.com to get connected with those fishermen who are posting their latest catch info.

Shrimpers are taking orders and will let you know when and where to pick up your shrimp. Also ask if they have crabs and fish as well.

Now is the time to put away some big shrimp for the grill and some gumbo shrimp for when the weather cools a bit. Order an ice chest or 2 full and share with your friends and family.

Our Delcambre Direct program is picking up steam now that the BP issue is winding down. Support our commercial fishermen and get your lips on some of the finest fresh shrimp available.
Stay tuned for updates as we work through the shrimp season

i picked up some 16-20s at the Seafod Shed in Golden Meadow last weekend. Probably closer to 21-25s, but very fresh and $2.35 per pound. That is unreal.

I grew up doing this from shrimpers in Cameron. Wouldn't know any other way to buy them. They definitely didn't operate a website though.

When in Grand Isle I buy them straight off the boat, usually for 1.99/lb.

I wonder where this is in Delcambre? My brother runs a shrimp factory over there. Not much in Delcambre really.

You can pretty much kiss all those rock bottom "off-the-boat" prices bye now that they are basically advertising.
