Decided I'm gonna do some white beans as a side dish for tailgating this Sat..

Trying to keep it simple so I'm gonna just use blue runner. Any suggestions on stuff to add to them when hearing the up.. Like onions, butter, garlic, etc..

a little bit of browned ham, finely diced carrots and garlic, herbes de provence, minced parsley. Voila a poor mans cassoulet. ETA put the parsley in five minutes before serving. Have a bottle of good olive oil on hand, this is the way the French eat thier cassoulet just a little drizzle over the bowl.

Bacon, chives, salt and red pepper is all it needs. I eat it like once a week. Awesome, cheap college food

Chop up some bacon and onion and sautee it with a little minced garlic and then add beans. Simple but very tasty if you are going the easy route.

Green onion in addition to (or as a substitute for) regular onion.
