I like Ridley. I think he has good vision and good burst through the hole. He has shown the ability to create when the hole isn't there. He has also shown the ability to break tackles. If he can shake the fumbles, I think he will be a very good back for us this year and thus far has earned his role as our feature back.

Here is where I have the problem. I'll preface this by saying I hope I get proven wrong. Nothing against the guy, but Richard Murphy seems kind of pointless in our offense. We have a guy in Shep that can do anything Murphy can, but he can do it better. I know Shep isn't listed as a RB, but they are comparable in size and Shep is quicker, faster and more agile than Murphy. Seems to me that any time Murphy touches the ball, it is a wasted opportunity for Shep to get a touch.

Lastly, I would like to see Ford and Ware get a touch here and there just to see what they can do. Murphy isn't going to wear any defense down so if Les wants to get multiple backs involved, I think these bigger guys are a better option or atleast deserve the chance to show that they are a better option.

Thoughts?

He may very well be, but I'm not sure we saw enough of him against UNC to make a definite determination.

Well, Shep did have more than twice the amount of carries and more than 4 times the touches that Murphy did. So, it appears that the coaching staff agrees with you.

I do too, but let's not forget Blue, who some reports have being listed over both Ford and Ware. I am excited for a young FR RB to emerge, but I don't care which one it is. I've got no dog in the Ford/Ware/Blue fight. May the best one emerge and win.

all valid points. I guess what I was trying to get across is that anytime murphy is on the field, it's kind of a waste..... it seems. Because anything he brings to the table it appears that he have someone better. Like I said, I hope I'm dead wrong in this b/c the guy has worked his tail off battling back from injuries etc.

i want murphy to get enough carries where he ccan at least he is capable of showing what he can do. everyone talk about how he hasnt impressed them. well wen u only get 3 carries and the coach wants a particular type of back and the fans want the new toy to play, everyone bashes murphy and come up with bullshite arse reasons for him not have just much of a chance as the rest of them
