I just posted this on the SEC rant but am very curious how this place will view it.

Cam's stats: 11-19 136yds 2TDs 1 INT and Auburn thinks they have one of the best QBs in the world and was named player of the game.

Jefferson's stats: 15-21 151yds 2TDs 1 INT and the LSU fan base has been losing their shite over the "poor" play of the QB.

Fwiw, I know Newton ran for 70yds and JJ ran for 36 but it's not good if your QB is your leading rusher in the SEC.

MSU's defense>>>>>UNC's 2nd team defense?

I like JJ and all. . .but Newton>>>JJ

We have a better OL, so I imagine we should put up better numbers against them.

Newton threw some decent balls last night. JJ has absolutely HORRIBLE mechanics, especially his release/accuracy.

AU doesn't have the playmakers LSU has either. I think that is obvious.

Newton ran with authority and was running people over. Dude looked like a developing stud to me. Slide him over in LSU's offense and I think he'd explode(minus Crowton being OC).

I think the gap isn't huge. If JJ works on a couple things, he can be a really good QB. The main thing he needs to work on is his accuracy and progression reads. Stop locking onto WRs. I thought he showed some progression in the UNC game by actually sitting in the pocket. Although, he still held onto the ball way too long, another problem. He was jittery with the ball, even when he stood in the pocket. When he stepped up for the deep ball to RR, he got destroyed by someone.

I don't want Cam Newton

I want a true passing QB that makes good reads, I don't care if he runs a 7.0 forty

Just like running QB's fail in the NFL and it takes a true pocket passer, the same holds true in the SEC

1 exception being Tebow and he was a good passer in the SEC and they had a great OC who knew how to use his talents....we don't have that

on the rant opinion>>>>>>>fact/stats. So many of the complaints about JJ are quickly quieted with fact.
he stares down his primary receiver...but completed 71% of his passes. If someone told me that my teams qb would only throw to his primary receiver on every play but would complete 71% of his passes and throw 2 tds for every pick I would take it all day.

Wrong. UNC's defense had talent all over the place. Davis has recruited his arse off over there.

None of players will ever be good enough to live up to lofty BR standards.

Yeah, are you?

Why is it that Roaad always shows up to show his arse on the Rant? Are you like the token stupid friend that everyone has?

Doesn't mean they're better than MSU's defense yet. Having young guys undeveloped playing, with talent does not mean their defense is better.

I think you're going to get surprised at how scrappy MSU is when they play LSU. I like Mullen and I think he has that program on the right track if they stick with him.

That damn 6-0-5 defense of Tiger5SSSSS was just too much for him to over come I guess.
