This is pure opinion so fire away if you feel the need.

Since last Saturday, the focus both locally and nationally has been on the 2nd half of the NC game.. or at least the vast majority of it.

Here's the reverse (and opinion) - At some point this season, hopefully soon, the 1st half of the NC game is going to become significant when talking about this LSU team.

"you had to see the glimpse of the explosive potential".
"that first TD to Randle was a preview of the vertical passing attack"
"Montgomery and Nevis started showing this sack attack early in the NC game"
"Shepard gave us a taste against NC with that 50 yd TD but no one could have anticipated this avg / carry at this point in the season"

Call me crazy but I can already hear Jackwagon's like Herbstreit, James and Corso spewing some retro-spective love on the Tigers after the Florida W.

Don't be late to the love fest - get with it Tiger fans.

Good call to start a new thread. No way this would have fit in with the other first half thread

My concern is just coaching methodology has bled to the players. The constant 15 yrd late hits etc, is lack of discipline. These are the things that worry me. Dropping the ball, easy fix. If you don't you sit (see Keiland Williams). Too much BS in coaching. That has got to change one way or the other.

I hope you're right, and agree with you that how the season goes from here will have a lot to do with which half of the UNC game is most talked about later. If we go on to have a great season, the 2nd half (really the last 10 minutes) will be mostly forgotten. If we struggle, then the 1st half will be mostly forgotten.

i didnt see any constant late hit there was the roughing the kicker that woulda been a 5 yarder if the rules werent changed since the guy was in the air before the ball was kicked and couldnt stop. then there was the out of bounds hit which definantly neede to be addressed with a lil m0re than a pat on the butt but i dont see where there are repeatec late hit penalties

If you're referring to the Barrow hit, you're an idiot. That is all.

Let me clarify, talking about going into last year as well. i.e. that has not seemed to change. Not just the one in the game. There was one blatant hit we had out of bounds, don't think it was the barrow one.

This was a young player playing aggressive in his first ever college game. I will give him a pass on this one.

1st half is very signifigant. Take away a 50 yd bomb to an elite receiver over a FRESHMAN 3rd string safety...and take away Shep's 50 yd scamper getting past a defense with 7 starters out....and the first half is important cause we were bad on offense without those plays.

Not just aggressive. The nc player was running as if the play was still alive. I completely agree with a little coaching, a pat on the rear, tell him you like his intensity and move on.

true then tkae away the deep pass for nc and the second half looks better stop trying to take plays away they were made and its done. you cant take it away cause it was in the gameplan and it worked

um, maybe because i'm right and this happy go lucky dork just started a redundant thread because he didn't want his brilliant insight to go unnoticed in the other thread

Yea man, take away all the good stuff and we did suck!

Perfect rant; if you just don't pay attention to the 52 victories or the national championship you'll see what a horrible coach Les Miles really is!

Got it.

Happy go lucky dork ? So you go from being an a-hole to an insulting a-hole...congratulations, you must be proud of yourself.

As for the thread, I don't find it redundant at all. If you think it is, you missed the point. The thread is my opinion on how the media will reverse course and start referencing the NC game in a different way. If that already exists, point it out in a specific manner rather than shooting off your mouth ambiguously.
