Vanderbilt and Alcohol...do they mix?

We have a large group with a few kids, mostly adults and we want to hang out and tailgate hard on Sat.
I thought I remember someone here saying the cops were anal and not to bring alcohol to Centennial Park - true or not?
If we can't drink there, then where and what's allowed? Anything? Glass? Cans only, etc?

Was there in '05. All the LSU fans rolled up on the public park just outside the campus (Centennial I guess). A cop came up to our group and just told us to keep the alcohol where he could not see it.

On the LSU facebook, they showed that Vanderbilt sent out a statement saying no alcohol and that its a 'picnic setting'

not publicly. as the other posters state, put it in a cup and lay kinda low. i lived in nashville, the cops are not nazi's but vanderbuilt is really "uppity". they think they are harvard. centeniniel park is not vanderbuilts turf, but it is a city park and all city parks ban booze. just put it in a cup and don't be too loud. sorry.

At the park in '05.. this all went out the window a few hours before kick off. It was your normal LSU tailgate scene. good times
