Ive looked at that second half twice now and I see mistaks being the main culprit for Carolina making a comeback.
I know im in the minority, but i liked what i saw from JOrdan. I just feel this coaching staff limits Jordan to one or two reads max on each play and thats why he seems to have to reset after the options are covered because he has not been coached to go thru more progressions.

Ridley has a nice feel for running thru the hole and making defenders miss but he will have to hold onto the ball. No brainer. If he doesnt he won't play its that simple and best believe Les will get on him like he did with Keiland and all those fumbles.

Feel like Terrance T. could have been given more opportunites, strange that he didnt even get thrown to in the first half.

The coaching staff wanted to get some other players experience and was a good thought, cant fault him for that. And to be honest the freshman were not the ones making the mistakes.

T-Bob sucks. Nuff said. How he still plays is baffling.

Morris Claiborne is going to be solid. I think he has been touted a little too much though. To say we have the best corner tandem in the SEC and one-half has never proven anything is setting oneself up for failure. He's got ability but like Pat Pete said, he's young and needs experience.

Im not worried, I saw alot to be encouraged about and the mistakes we made are correctable. Also, the mistakes made have nothing to do with the coaching staff. You cant coach and failproof someone fumbling, someone commiting dumb personal fouls and you can preach not to jump offsides all day, but its on that player to perform or get replaced.

Was the second half a little too conservative, yes, but Les was trying to evaluate the run game which was the right thing to do, because that's what wins in the SEC. Period. Should all the youngins have played? NO, but i understand what he was trying to do. Building depth and confidence in its young players for a long season and unexpected injuries.

As majority of the time, every year we come out and play a game that is a tale of two halves. We will be alright. New starters can now settle down and focus on their assignemnts and we will be ok. We always are until we get to the Florida game and I dont exepct anything otherwise.

Les is a solid coach, not the best, but one thing he doesnt do is panic. the defense is noticeably better and Jordan did some good things against a solid defennse even without those starters! FYI, North Carolina will be in the hunt for a Championship in a year or two. Across the board, North Carolian at full strength would probably contend for the SEC Championship, so they are no slouches especiall if Yates play that way all year.

We'[ll be more sound next week from a penalty and fumbling perspective and Michael Ford will start to get his carries. I think he was suspended personally but we didnt choose to announce it. Ford will b the runner we count on this year. Jordan is going to get better. Crowton has to do a better job of giving Jordan more options on any give play. Period. The defense will be scary by the time we get to West Virginia and we will have our speed tested by Devine, which is much needed.

Enjoy the season folks, I expect the Tigers to suprise and get to Atlanta again. Its going to come together soon and we will be better for Saturday's game (good and bad). We've been tested already and know that we need to get it together. Usually that doesnt happen till week three when we play directional schools all before.

Go Tigers and someone get Pat Pete a damn Gatorade in the fourth!!!! Ha. ha. its going to work out and Les is due some good fortune now that the Perilloux situation is fully behinds us, hell it started already...

I didn't read that whole thing because it was really long, but I'm hoping I got the gist from your thread title. I'm a little impressed with the Rant today, it's almost positive, and not all horrible doom and gloom. Hell, from what I've read, most of the board is still behind the team...this is pretty late in the season to still have all of these positive feelings. I couldn't bring myself to read the Rant yesterday due to the depression I knew it would cause me. Good job tonight people.

When did this ever happen?

I'm sorry, but we were outplayed in the second half. No excuses, UNC just wanted it more than we did. Our pass defense was awful. Our running backs refused to hold onto the ball. Jordan Jefferson still holds onto the ball too long.

Hebert 6-3 280lb JR.
Williford 6-7 324lb RSFR.

After Blackwell went down, I can only surmize they didn't want an inexperienced RSFR playing RG next to a first year starter at RT during the first game of the year on national television. Williford should start and / or get most of the snaps against Vandy......

I completely agree. We need someone who started all last season to show how it is to be completely useless in the offensive line. You know, experience.

Not sold on Ridley just yet. He doesn't seem to be a pile mover inside, and while he does a decent job at hitting the corner doesn't have breakaway speed. He looks adequate but not a game changer or anything. Looks to be a back who fits well in a mixture but not a feature back. I could be wrong, but I don't see it yet.
