Saints RB Chris Ivory (knee) returned to practice Wednesday on a limited basis.
He's not expected to play in Week 3, but Ivory certainly appears to be getting closer. It's the first work he's done since spraining his MCL in the last game of the preseason. Look for the rookie to return in Week 4.

back at practice, think they'll try to use him to determine how much they need to offer PT to stay next year, or go with Ivory.

ccording to NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora, the Chargers are operating under the assumption that Ryan Mathews (high ankle sprain) "will be unable to go in [his] normal role if at all."
As we suspected. The high ankle sprain won't improve without rest, so Mike Tolbert is expected to start for Mathews at Seattle

You know, this really surprises me. Spiller was tearing it up in the preseason. I wonder what happened between then?

I wonder how many carries Snelling will get with Norwood out? I think 12 touches ain't outta the question, but not startable really

I feel sorry for his owners....wait 2 weeks, and he'll still be crap.

Those 3 words might as well be an anchor tied to his ankle. He won't be right all year.

But Buckhalter is starting. Two observations.

1. No telling whether any of these guys will register statistically significant stats.

2. Hope this isn't another year when Denver loses all its runners like a couple of years ago (or was it last year?). That was ugly.

as always, but it's better for you to have him if he does.

If Moreno out a month, Maroney will have more carries

NFL Network's Mike Lombardi predicted on Total Access Friday that Laurence Maroney will be the Broncos' primary back with Knowshon Moreno (hamstring) sidelined.
Lombardi, who's close to people in the Denver organization, conceded that Correll Buckhalter "will be involved," but made it sound like Maroney has a very good chance to immediately take over as the lead back. The Colts' defense is not stout against the run, so Maroney is worth flex consideration because of the matchup. He is over his previous thigh injury.

Luckily (knock wood) I have no personal interest in this tragedy. I had my own issue with Mathews. He's on the bench this week. I've slotted Portis in at RB2. I've got Brandon Jackson if something (god forbid) happens with Portis or my RB1 (Mendenhall), and then LT after that if armageddon ensues.

Maroney has sucked it up for awhile. Buckhalter runs hard and I wouldnt be surprised if he got the majority of the carries and some goal line touches (which he was already getting)

I can see why you would say this. But sometimes I think Maroney just got off on the wrong foot in N.E.

In addition, I haven't watched Buckhalter this year, but I read some negative stuff about how he's playing generally.

Not saying that you're wrong, I'm just saying that this could be good for either guy.

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Knowshon Moreno's strained hamstring will cost him "probably two weeks."
Keep in mind that Mort said this in reply to a Twitter question, so it's not an official "report." However, Mortensen has been on the story from the get-go, and was the first to report that the injury happened in Friday's practice. Laurence Maroney is tentatively expected to lead the Broncos in carries while Moreno is out

So if you could play Buckhalter or Maroney tomorrow, who would it be??

honestly, I'd probably go Buck if I were a Moreno owner because I haven't seen Maroney used yet. But I expect more out of Maroney Long-term for the pick-up non-Moreno owner. If you only had one spot I'd go Maroney and risk it.
