We did well against the run for the most part but did we have to committ DBs to support too much hence why we got gouged for so many passing yards? Nevis is a beast but otherwise are we too light to hold up with the fron in stopping the run? Were the short completions(many) a product of our LB having to neglect that coverage in support of run D? Or were we just out schemed? THoughts?

Cover 2....

Corner support is awesome for LSU. They consistently get inside the WR face and tackle excellent. The LB's slide in and out of 4-3 into 50 look. The 2 backers are looking run primarily and TE and slants were open all night. Back to the corners, they have WR unless FB or TE go into flats.

Chavis needs to mix in more man with more blitzes. Our D line played as good as we have seen in a long time but it's hard to do all night. The backers got to be involved in the blitz scheme more. Chavis is risk averse to say the least. He simply believes you will not go 12 plays 80 yards for a TD often.
