Unfortunately, he looked like a guy at the end of the bench who wanted nothing to do with the game last night. He still has plenty of time, but his peers have left him in their rear views. Tons of young guys in the rotation, but no CD. I realize this is not a recruiting topic, but I think it is relevant here considering his recruiting hype.

Come on Chris!

My criticism of Davenport coming out of HS (he's from up here) is that he was carrying too much fat. When I saw him on TV last night it looked like he was in better shape.

He is in much better shape, but things just aren't clicking with him.

Very inconsistent play all spring and summer long. He would have days where he looked amazing, and then would follow it with 3 days of being invisible. Needs to get a lot more consistent and needs to get a fired lit underneath him

sounds like health issues...mental, physical or somewhere in between. if it's possible, we have an obligation to fix this kid.

A move to OL would not surprise me if it doesn't click by the end of the year.

In all honesty, he could be a very good guard. Great size and good athleticism.

If it doesn't click for him on defense, I say move him to O-line.

Right let's move him to a position where he will have to study plays and actually think. Brilliant idea.

I agree we have three guys at DT in this class that would love to be apart of this class. Hunter, Johnson and freak with hunter being the odd man out. Plus Jernigan (sp.. Kid from Florida).

Davenport going to be another al woods? 5 star guy from small town that doesn't play until his senior year or what?

Thats just what our Oline needs. More guys that suck too much to play defense. How bout we send his arse packing, so we can replace him with a Dlineman or an Olineman that has a future ahead of them in football?

You guys are brutal. Give him a little time, there's some really good players ahead of him. In case ya'll didn't notice, the D-line played well last night.

Yeah, let's make a habit of cutting ties with redshirt freshmen 5 stars...

what does this mean?

if you watched the game, he was always right in the front with the other reserve DL

Appears he is in Les Miles doghouse, he may be fricked.

He is not in the dog house, he is just not showing improvement, but neither did Al Woods for a while, but he had a decent senior year. However , with the depth and talent we have now and the talent that is coming in it does not look like he will have much time to improve. So if he wants to play he better get to work and fix his technique .

Didn't say he was gone. I said he was a attrition candidate, which as of now, he is.

Pretty sure the staff doesn't give two shits about where he was ranked coming out of HS. Especially considering he is struggling right now to the point where Miles flat out called him out in the interview.
