This school has the potential to surpass LSU over the next 20 years if present trends continue. There are a lot of cutting edge technology programs being developed there and the academics is improving every year. I could see it happen. It is definitely number two with a bullet right now.

Tech will never pass LSU, but with North Louisiana, South Arkansas, and East Texas support, it could get to the level of an Ole Miss or Miss. State in 20 years.

no it can't. Those schools have been SEC programs since the '20s.

The IQ of the average incoming freshman is the highest in the state now. And it shows no sign of stopping. I think sports-related dominance isn't far behind that. I'm almost confident enough to throw a "Book It" in there.

I think you really need to be in a BCS conference to be a sleeping giant. Do they have the potential to be a Fresno State type program? I think so.

Boise is a really strange exception. A state with little HS talent and unattractive town. However, they have just been fortunate to have a string of very good coaches. Good fortune really.

It's quite possible with the massive drop in quality LSU is about to face

Well, do you think Boise, Idaho is an attractive place for top notch football recruits? Just because you think its pretty compared to Ruston isn't saying much...

And don't get your panties in a wad, Margaret. It was a compliment to say that La Tech could become a Fresno State type program. Fresno has been relevant in college football for quite a while now, considering they are in a small conference.
