Auction Draft vs Snake Draft

I have heard about Auction Drafts but have always done Snake drafts. I want to do an Auction but I am having a hard time convincing the rest of the league. It is a 10 team league and I have 5 teams on my side but I need one more.
I have done some research and it looks like Auction would be a lot of fun but I want to get TDs opinion.
Does anyone have experience with both snake and auction drafts? If you do which one do you like better and why?
Any suggestions on how to convince the rest of the league to switch to Auction drafts?
Thanks

I strongly prefer auction drafts. Auction drafts are just more fun than snake drafts. Snake drafts are just getting so predictable these days. In an auction draft you don't have to worry about a shitty draft position - if you want someone bad enough you go out and get them. You have your traditionalists, hell I was one of them, but once you do an auction draft you'll be a believer.

I do an auction draft and 2-3 snake drafts every year. I like doing both. As the previous poster said, auction drafts are really more fair because there is no draft order. No one really cares who gets to bring a player up for bid first.
Auction drafts take a little more time, so keep that in mind when you set a draft time.
I personally wouldn't change the format from snake to auction, but would do both.

there is no argument for a snake draft over an auction draft

Block off an additional hour and hire a CPA to track your monopoly $$$.

auction draft with H2H cat scoring (not point scoring) each week and multiple utility players (meaning more than 1 QB possibly)
