How would it look with the flag instead of the hawkeye?

I'd stick with the logo as the flag, it looks awesome and I would love to see that actually used in a game by Iowa.

Thanks for the work everyone.
The rotation of the flag and the helmet seem to go against each other.. Thanks for taking the time on this.

All i did was take a picture of Owl's own football helmet and add the Iowa logo.

Well, after a year, Today Iowa is using one of those designs to honor Veterans Worldwide.

One side had the decal to honor living vets. Other side of the helmet was left blank / black to honor the fallen vets.

Northwestern did it
On September 10, 2011 vs. Eastern Illinois, NU employed an alternate helmet for the first time since the 1977 Iowa game. The alternate helmet had the N logo patterned with the American flag, commemorating the tenth anniversary of 9/11 (the same logo appeared at midfield). The "9/10/11 Helmet" also featured a commemorative ribbon on the back.
