SEC West champs 40% of the time, w/o ZLee

That's my goal for football. Team is currently one year away with or without ZLee. LSU wins west in '11. New qb in '12, so winning west not legit expectation (even if ZLee stayed), but then have legit shot in '13-'15. Without ZLee LSU should still be able to win west 40% of time.

Losing ZLee hurts. The Tigers will probably lose games in '12 that would have been victories w/ ZLee, but the sky isn't falling. 2010 will build toward 2011. 2012 will build toward 2013.

Look closer. But it's not relegated to the QB position... it's only a part of the sky.

The best players on the team are underclassmen. Consider PP a senior along with Sheppard. The guys coming behind any other seniors have more talent. Call me pollyanna, but I think LSU is on the upswing and will win west in 2011.

Good luck with that one.

See above.

Possibly. But playing for a good season and having a good program are two different things.

I will sacrifice 2011 SEC-W Championship for a consistent and well directed program -- but that should never have to be the case.

PP is gone after this year, so consider him a senior.

One Western Divison championship in 10 years is playing for a season, winning 40% of the time is a program. I'm not advocating playing for a season, just realizing there will be off years.

Then why are you putting him into your 2011 season of "greatness"?

What you define as "off years" is actually a steep decline in the program regardless if you wish to see it or not. Writing off 2008, 2009, 2010 so you can play for 2011 is playing for what exactly?

you can't argue with an idiot like dritzztiger....he has no clue what it takes to win big in college football, and has no clue about overall talent of a program. He is a short-sighted individual with no sense of realism.....either a johnny come lately fan...or just too young to know any better. clueless. When LSU wins this year he'll be the one leading the cheers of I told you so. That's what his type do....

Consider Patrick Peterson a senior this year. He and Kelvin Sheppard are the two guys who are better than the younger guys replacing them. In all other areas 2011 will be better than 2010. I'm not counting him in the season of greatness.

The last two years have been hard to watch. 2008 sucked, but Chick-Fil-A made it feel better. I think Les had championship hangover in 2008, but that's in the past. Currently, the team as a whole is improving again.
