At the bottom of the article it makes mention of Austin having to sit out a game, also that Little would not be suspended. Sorry if Germans.

According to ESPN, the investigation is not over.

quote:

North Carolina hopes the NCAA's inquiry is over before the season starts (vs. LSU, Sept. 4). But if not, the school will not risk using a player not cleared by the NCAA for fear of vacating wins if the player is later deemed ineligible, sources told ESPN.

A guy on Mascona's show yesterday said no way we see Austin.

Marvin Austin will serve a 1 game suspension because of the agent contact.

i guess i'll take any help we can get but i would hope we can beat nc without it... at this answers the question though.

That's what I am saying. It should still be a good test for the first game, and I don't give a shite about their fans' excuses after the game. A win is a win, and we desperately need one to start the season off.

It will get very old watching the tv as we run all over them as the announcers say that they are really missing his presence over and over

He's one player. His absence won't be the reason we beat them.

Good thing I will be so drunk by the 2nd half I won't remember what the announcers say.

Getting the defense mechanisms ready early huh
He is arguably their best player, and our offensive line is our biggest weakness (or so we think). It won't be THE reason we beat them, but it will help us out a great deal.

Indeed. Hopefully we beat them convincingly enough that no rational person would argue otherwise.

The other good thing is that by year-end, no one will remember he didn't play. Did anyone discredit USC's beating Arkansas in 2006 because Darren McFadden didn't play?

Quinn is their best player. Little won't be a factor(PP). This may help LSU run inside, but only a little. This doesn't change much IMO, if true.

Yeah they have DE Robert Quinn, OLB Bruce Carter and DT Marvin Austin. All of which are potential 1st round draft picks this year.

With that kind of talent up front, we need the OL to step up and hope the passing game has improved. Running the ball is going to rough.

Butch might pull a CUM and sit him out against The Citadel or William and Mary.

(note, since this is the NCAA, I don't guess that UNC gets to choose the game)
