Unless the river was up and I guess you could boat around and kill one.

Jones, LA. When the water is right in Overflow Refuge, the ricefields just south of there are phenomenal.

south Ouchita parish-Hwy 15 are historically the best areas in NELA

Read this and got so homesick I actually teared up!!

Lost my brother almost 6 years ago, and he was one of the best duck hunters ever. It always hurts when duck season gets here and he isn't...

South LA duck hunting is worlds apart from mallards on a consistent daily basis up North.
Best places I have been to:

1. Salt Lake
2. Jones
3. Anywhere along Hwy 15
4. Catahoula Lake
5. McGowen Brake
6. Pot Luck on a mid week day (see #3 above)
7. Upper Ouachita/ state line flooded timber

Pot Luck can be good but it's not off hwy 15...hwy 80 would be correct...Dummy Line road to be specific.

Am dying to do some flooded timber hunting, any public land that is good timber hunting? Buddy has a blind in Catahoula lake so will make some hunts there this year. Whats a average price for a lease in a good area around NLA
