I decided to go on an share this because Nuts4LSu seems like he might go into cardiac arrest before the season starts. SIAP

quote:

"We have a tough man at quarterback,'' said Miles of the guy in jersey No. 9. "He knows he's in charge, that the offense belongs to him. We're determined to help him by running the ball, which we had trouble doing last year, partly because of injuries.''

quote:

Coordinator Gary Crowton spoke optimistically about an offense he promises "will be aggressive'' with a quarterback who's ready to do a far better job on "reading defenses and getting rid of the ball quicker.''

Maybe the article can simmer down some of the boiling points because they Do know what they have to do and All of them are working on the situation so just chill out before you have a damn heart attack.

sheppard and the OL may be more important than jefferson, not to mention ford. Sheppard COULD change the offense though.....just by his big play ability and always being on the field...opens up a lot for others...

Not to be negative here, but do our opponents have the same opinion of Shep? Do they see him as a big threat?

The more they don't see him and JJ as threats, the better.

Jordan throws the short pass a lot better than the long pass. So maybe he can get the ball to Shep. If he can, the ground game should open up and opportunities down field. De Angelo Peterson could be the biggest ace in the deck.

Poor old Pete Finney was truly a great journalist at one time. But he really isn't helping his legacy any more.

It all depends on the OL. Jefferson had a pretty good year for a true sophomore.

He had a great completion percentage and had a lot of big passing plays eventhough people refuse to believe it.

Jefferson had 22 passing plays go for 25+ yards and he missed a game and a half due to injury.

I don't really care if the coaching staff is publically critical as all players can constantly improve. It also appears the coaches have lost any type of complacency for player performance.

i agree that deangelo peterson is a great threat. he looked very good against bama last year. if he stayed at receiver i think we would have a more effective receiving corps with more experience and still have a receiving option at TE, but i like the short threat and over the top nightmares he can cause in the middle of the field. hope we use him to the fullest.

I'd say a better OL is far more important to the season than any improvement JJ makes.

For those of you that believe that JL should be the starting quarterback instead of JJ, I suggest that you go back and watch the 4th quarter of the Bama game and the LA Tech game to see why JL is not the starter.

Dickson was a great tight end for LSU, but Peterson is a freak. He will give defenses fits this season.

O- and d-lines are the keys to our season. It doesn't matter how good the rest of the team is if they're lined up behind mediocre lines. Put another way: when's the last time a team won the SEC championship with average lines? Not recently, that's for sure.

The offensive line is the key because it will rejuvenate what was an absent running game last season, and the added balance will buy JJ more time and also open up the passing game.

Hey, I actually like that avatar. Reminds me of stickers my older brother and his friends had way back in the early 70's (way before Garbage Pail Kids).
