I'm not creating this thread to start shite.

Actually, it is in response to a statement Dandy Don made this morning. He said the people either love Miles or hate him.
I think it's more like "you either like Miles a little or hate him". I like a few of the things Miles has done. But I'm certainly not in love with the direction of the program right now, especially in regards to losing our stronghold to our arch rival in the SEC West.
I'm just curious, is there anyone on here that actually "loves" Miles...or even likes him alot.
...and spare me the 'he's a good family man and representative of LSU' stuff. I'm talking about purely as a football coach and the direction of the program.

All Miles lovers...stand up and represent!

I have the ability to separate the man from the football coach. The man, I love. The football coach, needs to earn his paycheck this year.

I feel it's like the President of the USA. You may not have voted for him, but you want him to do a good job. Stick by him while he's in office.

I'm really not...I just wonder who "loves" him. So far, noone does. Dandy Don said it's either 'love or hate'. I just don't see it that way.

Two main things have caused Miles' problems the last 2 years...

1. Not hiring a real DC like Chavis when Pelini left. I think we all knew Co-DCs was gonna suck.

2. Not having another QB other than a Harvard transfer, a RS freshman, and a true freshman ready to go after RP was kicked off the team.

If the above 2 had been handled better, i think Miles would be viewed alot differently...cause i think we/he would have had much more success. Everyone dwells on a few in game decisions he's made...but even being in a couple of those games was a miracle...like the Ole Miss game.

I dont "love" ANY coach...but I do have alot of respect for Miles, and I think he's been working his butt off to fix his mistakes. Just look at his hires recently...very impressive. I cant wait for this year to unfold.

I'll stand up for Les Miles. I think he is a fine coach. I believe he made a mistake or two that have been blown way out of perportion by the media and skeptics. The Ole Miss clock blunder and the co-defensive coordinators fiasco are the only real mars I have seen. Both are forgiveable, IMHO.

Losing Perriloux and a bunch of bad luck have cuased people to forget how good his first three years at LSU felt to everybody.

I think the Tigers are primed for a great year against a very tough schedule! We now have an experienced QB with more depth at the position.

Winning in the SEC is no easy task. The SEC is full of great coaches.

I like Les Miles as a human being, as well. I think he is a fine man with great values, and I believe that he is a good example to the players and fans.

Anyone here who hasn't experienced some bad luck or made a few mistakes, please tell us about it!

Bingo. Damn strong man, who needs to show he can be a damn strong coach - tow totally different things. Just like the players. No one "hates" any player, but the players play on the field is fair game for praise or criticism...

It does not matter what we think, all that matters is he is our Coach, like him or hate him, we should still support the Coach until the time comes to support another Coach. I do not know of a single poster on this site that has a vote on whether he will be or will not be our Coach at the end of the year. If they are then they are not listening to me or anyone else on this site whether to get rid of him or not. We might like to think we have that much pull but, that is wishful thinking.

Right now is not the time to debate whether he should or should not be our Coach. If we are fans of LSU then we should be looking forward to the upcoming season and support the team so that the players will know that we as fans ALL support them and are pulling for them. This team needs to know that their fans are behind them no matter what.

To me that is what's the matter with this site, that there are too many individuals that hate Miles so much that they are wanting and hoping for this team to fail this season in order to be able to say I told you so. That is wrong and it needs to change, because with these few that are pushing for this team to fail and to get rid of Miles they want these young men to fail in the process.

This team deserves more from it's fan base than this. We need to back them whether or not we love, like or hate Miles. He is our Coach now so either stop with all this junk or stay at home during the season and let those of us that support the team go to the games so that Death Valley will once again be Death Valley to the opponents the way it used to be and should be.

We have 61 days until North Carolina!

THE LSU TIGERS deserve this and because
WE ARE THE LSU TIGERS!

I Say
