that actually thinks that Jarrett Lee would repeat the season he had as a RS Fresh.? I'm talking about legitimately throwing that many INT's and having them returned.

This is a legit question. I see so many arguments against the kid because of his first season. Are there really people here that think he will REPEAT or have even a worse season than his first one?

If you do, why do you feel that way?

TIA.

I feel no, but, at this point, you have to go with JJ. He has the experience now. I think the biggest problem has been the QB shuffling. That is hard for anybody. You can never get into a ryhthm.

No... but based on what I saw him do last year against Tech and in the Spring Game, I don't want him as our starter. And this coming from a guy who desperately hoped he could light it up last year just to spit in the face of everyone who booed him.

The Tech game hit me hard as far as supporting him.

No, I don't. I think right now he is better than Jefferson in the passing game.

However, I think Jefferson gives us better options in the read-option game, if properly executed and if he's actually utilized in that capacity, along with rolling out and having run/pass options.

Bottom line, neither is a good option in 3rd and 8, which we had a lot last year. I like Jefferson in 3rd and short because you can roll him out and do run/pass option.

He had the opportunity to play past his shortcomings in the fourth quarter of Alabama and Tech last year. I feel bad for the kid and respect his stickability but I don't think he has what it takes in terms of mentality to compliment his arm talent.

repeat those exact numbers? seeing it was an NCAA record that's doubtful

still be a pretty poor qb? From his past 2 seasons I think there's a good chance of it.

If they are the only two QB’s in question, I saw more potential in JL than I did in JJ. Unless JJ has progressed greatly in the last few months, I didn’t see a lot to think he will “win” some games for us or is capable of putting the team on his back and slinging it if we are behind. Even during JL's bad season, he showed more promise.

Even with his mistakes, if our defense was even decent that year, we win more games. And if our defense wasn’t as bad, he wouldn’t have been placed in a position to throw as much as he did.

But I am not at practice and am not privy to inside information. I just hope the coaches make the right decision.

And is there any indication that he has learned how to execute the read option in the last 6 months?

No. He will be better. How much better is really the question and I'm not sure LSU wants to find out this year.

i think with good coaching and more play time, jarrett lee could be a really good quarterback...having said that i think he has a long way to go to compare to a guy like matt flynn

No, but I hope Gonzalez brings that dimension to the offense from Florida. And to clarify, I mean the read option from the pistol or shotgun, not the straight option to the short side of the field where he never pitches the ball and runs laterally til he hits the sideline.

No. That said, I think JJ still shows greater upside and gives us a better chance to win games.

I will give you the answer that everyone else is avoiding.

Yes, he gave tech a pick six and the defender had a brain fart when the ball hit him in the numbers. JL caved against bama. Everyone said he was looking awesome during the spring and the pick sixes were behind him. I dont care if i wasnt his "fault"...it happened which shows me JL will not get rid of it.

The simple answer is, yes it is VERY possible if he started there might be a repeat performance.

No need to bring in Jefferson since this does not concern him.
