I'm looking to go to Houston this summer with the wife and two boys and have never been to Minute Maid Park. Any tips on where to sit, etc.? Also, where can tickets be purchased besides through the Astro site? Looks like $53 a seat for dugout box seats. TIA.

I have been many times and sat in many different places. There really is not a bad seat. Although I have never sat in the nose bleed section. Price of tickets ranges a lot and the views do not. Really a nice park to see a game in. Go one night that they have fireworks after the game.......or $1 hotdog night!

$35 for the Crawford Boxes. Sat there last night for a hell of a game. Probably the best seats in the park next to behind home plate. We were about 2 feet away from Pence's bomb in the 5th and we were right near most of the action. Great view.

Were you the one eating the nachos that got the ball?

The guy that got pences ball never spilled his nachos. Just buy nosebleed tickets and go in and coach 3rd.

By the way, I was in Houston last week and stayed at the Inn at the Ballpark (I think that's the name). It's adjacent to Minute Maid Park. I give it two thumbs up if you're looking for accomodations, too.

They also had this family that was a row behind us and a few seats over that had picked up about 500 all-star ballots, and filled them out the entire game.

Is it possible to buy cheaper seats and move around the stadium? I went to 5 games last year and didnt think that was a possibility due to attendants at each section (i may be mistaken). Thinking about doing it again next week as it looks like Orange Beach will be Oil Beach.

Wondering about the availability of reasonably priced tickets also. I sure as hell can't see paying face to see the Astros these days.

Crawford Boxes
WAY overrated IMO. Unless you're sitting in the very front you can't see center field or the scoreboard. The dugout boxes are WAY better. The bullpen boxes are much cheaper and you can see the whole field. I've sat in the cheap seats up high and they are actually pretty damn good. The park is really intimate and, like somebody else said, there really isn't a bad seat in the house.

dude, don't buy tickets.....

wait til exact gametime, go buy standing room tickets.

then take your time getting into the game, get something to eat, a beer, and then find a section along the 1st or 3rd baseline without a section manager and go take a seat.

has worked nearly 5 times for me and my crew this summer. nobody goes to these games.
