As an Aston Villa fan, I'd never heard this before, but the BBC reported this weekend that the European Cup was actually stolen from a bar in Birmingham a few days after Villa won it in 1982, only to appear hours later in Sheffield. Supposedly this was local folklore in both cities for years until it was finally confirmed. Enjoy.
