Barca were rumored to be after 3 transfers this summer. Villa, Cesc, and ????? They spent 10 million more on Villa than they anticipated which may mean they can only afford to go after one more.

If they want to go after someone else, they should find a way to get rid of Ibrahimovic to the curb, now that they have Villa.

That was rumored to be in play as a possibility with Arsenal for Cesc.

I dont think that would work out for arsenal. Not to say that bentner is anywhere near zlatan, but I don't see the fit for him at the emirates. Say you did take him as an upgrade at forward. You still have a huge void from cesc compounded by zlatan wanting the ball.
Straight cash no doubt

USD 55M

Donde deal. Contract only lacks the final incentive clauses and Villa's signature.

definitely. these exorbitant transfer fees will also continue fricking up the market for teams with more humble funds. I swear to god Nigel Reo-Coker could go for at least 17 million right now.

Barca have never been anything else, but they're the we buy success in the same way Man Utd are, great youth players come up through the ranks and end up next to some fantastic players brought in, not the same way Real are. Which is basically all about big money signings (ironic as their best and most consistent player is Casillas) .

It costs €150 to be a Barca member for the year, they have like 175,000 members, and the big point of membership is that you get reduced prices and first access to tickets, so fans generate at least $30m euros per season through that, plus the tv deal, plus they're backed by the Catalan royal family.

Have they really always been like that? I remember starting to like them stimply because they compteted with Real for the crown but didn't buy their trophies. Now im quickly disliking both teams. I'm not a huge fan of the "buying success" method.

Then there are no top level European teams for you. Unfortunately all the top clubs do this.
