With the lottery being tonight, where do y'all think Tasmin will be drafted, if he even does?
Posted on 5/18/10 at 11:14 am to BlackandPurple711
Overseas more than likely. Wish him the best as he was nothing but THE model student athlete.

Top half of the lottery, IMO.

Maybe late second round but more likely free agent - could make a team like G Temple did last year.

Yeah I see a Garrett Temple type of route for him...he'll be overlooked by a lot of teams, and hopefully prove them wrong

undrafted.
I hope for his sake, he learned Spanish or Italian.
While being a free agent means he can select an NBA team he thinks needs someone like him, he will make good money on day one if he is comfortable playing in Europe and working on his game.
While I did not watch the Portsmouth workouts, he was in them.
Unless he is totally deluded, he now knows what his weaknesses are, and he can work on them, and come back in a year.
His name is not among those projected in the two rounds.

I wonder what he thinks about playing overseas...some guys are OK with it, while others are NBA no matter what

Yep. He will get a reality check when he tries out as a free agent.
Maybe he makes the cut.
If not, he can get an agent from Europe.

He did not do well in Porstmouth, no chance at getting drafted. He needs to try to get invited to a summer league team, then get on with NBDL like Garrett Temple did.

i think he fits perfect with the hornets in the second round.
he's a tall, long, athletic guy that can guard the kobe, carmelo, and durrant's, of the west. (well guard them well enough to keep em working for their points.)
he can score a little. then peja can come off the bench as a spark along with collison.
just my opinion.

Just FYI the player draft is June 24th, not tonight.

He has learned Swahili.

I know the draft isn't tonight, but the lottery will be picked. The Hornets have a 0.8 percent chance of landing the No. 1 pick.

Hornets don't have a second round pick.
I like Tasmin as a player, and appreciate his time at lsu, but he is listed at 6'7" and is probably really 6'6". He also isn't that athletic. He plays below the rim, and doesn't have the quickness to defend guards.
I don't think defense of 3 of the best scorers in the league would be his strong point. So you have him pegged as a starter for the hornets?

Undrafted, but I think several teams will invite him to tryouts.
Likely he'll spend some time overseas or in the D-League. Hopefully, he can make it on a roster and get a chance.

Tasmin is one of my all-time favorites, but he would be abused by these guys. Too small to guard the PFs and not athletic enough to defend the SG/SFs of the league. Temple has a better shot at sticking than Tasmin IMO.

Either a late 2nd rounder or undrafted.

i think the summer league- d league- 10 day contract route is the way to go for him, just like temple. teams will love his inteligence and his work ethic, its just going to need to be a right fit for him otherwise he can go straight away to europe and make more cash right away.
his defense on kevin durant when we played texas in houston was fantastic.
