Does the Saints have open tryouts?

Not trying to be funny, just wondering. How did the beerman get his look? An intelligent response would greatly be appreciated.

Have not heard of any now. I'm guessing they are more common the worse a franchise is doing. All of the UFL teams have advertised open tryouts.

I would assume he knew someone or had an agent. I worked with someone once who essentially had a several year side career as a camp body and he wasn't just showing up, he had to go through all the proper channels as far as I know.

Lewis had play arena ball and other semi pro leagues, i think he had some type of formal tryout based on that

Lewis pulled a Major League on the Saints. Came out on the field in PJ's and out ran the fastest WR with a 10 yard late start.

No they don't... The only way to get a tryout is to arrange a workout with saints scouts. This is also hard to do, unless you played college ball and your coach invites you to your colleges pro day. Another way would be if you trained with a professional who also trains NFL players, or prospects, they get individual workouts with scouts(and often others jump in with them for their workout)....
As for the beerman he played in the AFL for a few years and also was on the Eagles training camp roster, and was signed by the saints a year later as a mini camp tryout player. After that he was signed to the training camp roster and the rest is history.
