Just heard about it on the radio, so it's being talked about in Columbus. I'm not going to get too excited until something more concrete comes out. If it ends up being Nebraska, ND, Mizzou - I'd jizz my pants.

Doug Gottlub just interviewed someone from the station that broke the story.

Citing multiple sources, the station is reporting that the Big Ten has "extended initial offers" to four four schools. Among them: Missouri and Nebraska, along with Rutgers and Notre Dame. Depending on whether Notre Dame accepts, the Big Ten could go to 14 or 16 teams.

If all four said yes, that would take the Big 11 to 15 teams. I wonder who they would then target to make lucky number 16?

Been saying Rutgers would get some attention from the B10. Doubt they make the final cut though

no way ND goes...they would be taking a huge financial hit leaving their own tv contract...they'd want extra cash from the big 10...I dont think OSU would appreciate that considering they have completely carried the conference

My understanding that Rutgers' invite is contingent upon ND saying no. If ND accepts then Rutgers wouldn't be invited. They're the back up plan.

Missouri and Nebraska

that is really going to hurt the Big 12, I guess that means Colorado heads to the Pac-10

Rutgers would be huge based on market size alone.

I wonder if this would make Texas want to bail out of the Big 12? There's been rumors that the Pac-10 wants Texas and Texas A&M, along with Colorado and Utah.

I think most any conference would take Texas if given the chance... they are too much of a cash cow not to consider

But geographically I don't think they make sense with anyone other than the Big 12, a new SWAC, or the SEC tho... yes they could travel for football but when you consider all the time etc for all the other sports I don't think they will end up doing that

And I think Texas and Texas A&M are probably still a "both or none" deal. (The Texas legislature probably still makes this true)

Anyway, Texas will have to do some thinking... they supposedly want to explore the idea of doing their own television network but ultimately probably would do better with a conference like the SEC when they would be just one of the big fish... but the pond would be much bigger (and their take home ends up being the same or larger)

Big 12 is in trouble... if Nebraska jumps and then Texas then they are down to OU and a bunch of dwarfs

Yeah, I posted a few months ago about this as well, but didn't seem to be too popular.

Could happen that Texas, TAMU, OU, and Okie State all come over to the SEC (in dream land). That gets the SEC to 16

Big10 takes Mizzou and Nebraska, then adds some Big East teams to get to 16

Pac10 takes Colorado and then needs some help to get to 16

ACC takes the rest of the BigEast that didn't go to the Big10

The rest of the midmajors reform and start a new division between FCS and FBS
