The answer is obviously the profound character study known to most cinephiles as Belizaire the Cajun.

"The Toy"...yeah, not Louisiana "themed" but shows with a La theme usually come off pretty lame if it's not a comedy.

A Street Car Named Desire
All the King's Men (loosely tied to LA through Huey Long)
Southern Comfort

Sounds about right.

If anything, the way actors exaggerate either a Cajun or a Southern drawl when playing New Orleanians is annoying. I'd rather they attempted a Yat accent like Vic & Nat'ly, it would at least sound like something I occasionally heard growing up.

I don't have a favorite, but I'll throw out a couple more. The Green Mile and Steel Magnolias were good enough to watch more than once.

Robert Duvall is the man. Didnt it take him something like 14 years to make this movie?

It took him awhile I think. One of his pet projects.
