"You could smell the smell of it, real heavy petroleum base," said Steve Owensby, 54, a maintenance man at the Flora-Bama Lounge abutting the state line on the Florida side.
The air cleared later, but Owensby's 28-year-old daughter, Stephanie, who tends bar at the lounge, said some visitors have complained of feeling ill from the fumes"
Yeah, right. That is the fumes from the other customers. I wonder what kind of degree you need to be A maintenance man let alone the head maintenance man at the Florabama.

Don't be a jackass. Janitorial Servicing stinks, but the business is picking up.

That is highly unlikely he smelled any fumes from the oil in the gulf. In fact a friend of mine went out yesterday afternoon in the Gulf with some people/scientest to collect samples of water looking for containimated water/oil and did not find any within 60nm of Orange Beach. NONE.
For those who may or may not have read my post after the explosion/rig sinking. I was tuna fishing @18nm away when the rig caught fire and exploded. We went to help and were the 2nd vessell on scene. The other was the crew/supply boat the Daman B Bankston.

I have more pictures and Video that I have not released to anyone.
As of right now there is no oil on our beaches. This is a fricking nightmare of a mess and at some point we will have oil here, just none now.

I remember that. I referenced you the other day talking about your thread (I couldn't exactly find it, but another poster linked to it in a thread yesterday).
Thanks for that post, and the pics, and everything you and your fishing buddies did to help out those guys.

I used to work for staff on the Sea Spray, and lifelong friends with his first mate and the captain of the Gunfighter and Undertaker as well. You probably know them, they are brothers- real good guys!
